The Firm represented a person who had been the victim of child sexual abuse by a Dentist. The Dentist had abused his patient in a most vile fashion some thirty years ago. The fact of his oppression had been suppressed by the patient.  The Firm successfully brought an application before the Criminal Injuries Compensation Tribunal. The Tribunal initially refused the application as being out of time. However, the Firm appealed that initial decision successfully and in January 2012, the Tribunal accepted our Submission that the case did fall within the remit of the Scheme and the victim was awarded significant damages.
