Ernest J Cantillon

Ernest J Cantillon Solicitor & Partner Ernest Cantillon graduated from University College Cork with a BCL degree, he then studied with the Law Society in Dublin, and qualified as a Solicitor in 1980.

Ernest Cantillon has been a Council member of the Southern Law Association and was elected it’s President.   Ernest Cantillon has been an elected and nominated member of the Council of the Law Society of Ireland.   He has served on a number of Law Society Committees, and was Chairman of the Law Societies Litigation Committee.   He was a former member of the Criminal Law Committee of the Law Society.  He served two terms as a member of the Disciplinary Tribunal  Mr. Cantillon was also appointed by the Minister for Justice to a Committee which advised the Minister on the qualifications of Judges.

Ernest Cantillon heads up one of the four litigation departments in the firm.   This department has been involved in a number of significant groundbreaking legal cases including Best –v- Welcome Pharmaceuticals;  Paul O’Donoghue, a minor –v- The Minister for Education;  Jamie Sinnott and Kathy Sinnott –v- The Minister for Education;  Marie O’Donoghue –v- Minister for Justice.
