ADVICE TO PRISON OFFERS, GARDAI AND HEALTHCARE WORKERS
If you are a Prison Officer, a member of the Gardaí or a Healthcare Worker and have sustained injuries during the course of your duties you may be entitled to bring an application to the Criminal Injuries Compensation Tribunal. We at Ernest J. Cantillon & Co. have many years experience in processing such claims. We have a department dedicated to this area. There are certain criteria that have to be met in order to qualify for the Scheme and we can guide you through this. It is important to note that there are time limits within which applications can be lodged and the current time limit is a period of three months. The Tribunal has discretion to extend the time but it is safer to apply within the timescale as the Tribunal may also refuse to extend the time.
