Have you written your will? Do you understand that to die without a valid will, you die “intestate” and the laws of the State govern what comes of your assets? We at Ernest J. Cantillon & Co. encourage all our clients to execute a will as soon as possible. Nobody wants to think about the inevitable, but with our help, you can quickly and discreetly arrange your affairs so that there are no disputes, hardships or delays for those you may leave behind. We are experienced tax planning advisors and will work with you to ensure that your loved ones benefit from your estate in the most tax efficient manner possible. We have advised a myriad of Personal Representatives (Executors / Administrators) in wrapping up the affairs of a deceased both quickly and efficiently. The Succession Act, 1965 and the Civil Partnership and Certain Rights and Obligations of Cohabitants Act 2010 (enacted but currently pending Commencement Order), is the legal code in Ireland governing wills and intestacy (the administration of an estate where no will was made). There are certain laws governing duties/obligations to one’s children (regardless of age) and provisions allowing for unsatisfied relatives to challenge a will or indeed seek to have it overturned, if certain criteria are met. If you have a query in relation to the validity of a Will, absence of a bequest or certain gift/gifts therein, please contact us and we will happily discuss your own individual concerns in confidence and with expertise. We are happy to speak to you in relation to your requirements at any time. You can contact our team in the following ways:- |
