The Litigation team acted on behalf of an employee who was subjected to a campaign of bullying and discrimination on racial grounds.  Despite numerous requests and a detailed written complaint made by the employee, the employer failed to properly investigate the complaint.  As a result, the employee was isolated by his fellow employees, suffered from ill health and eventually resigned his position.  The Equality Tribunal found that the employee had been subjected to harassment by his co-workers on the basis of race and as the employer had no policy or procedure in place to deal with a complaint of harassment and did not take clear definitive action to deal with the complaint, an award of €20,000 was ordered in favour of the employee.
