The Litigation team at Cantillons acted on behalf of a healthcare worker who was assaulted by one of the clients in the healthcare facility that he worked in.

The health care facility was a residential facility.   The healthcare worker was asked to take one of the clients of the facility for a walk.  The client had special educational needs.  Whilst out on the walk, the client physically attacked the health care worker, resulting in the healthcare worker suffering serious injuries.  This client had a history of assaulting staff at the facility.  It was clear that inadequate numbers of staff had been provided to assist the healthcare worker and inadequate training was provided.

The Litigation team was able to demonstrate this and succeeded in negotiating a five figure settlement sum for the healthcare worker.
