The Medical Negligence team at Cantillons acted on behalf of a woman who underwent keyhole surgery for the removal of her ovaries resulting in a negligently perforated bowel. This perforation went undetected for some 36 hours, despite the Plaintiff’s cries for help. As a consequence of this, the Plaintiff suffered sepsis and peritonitis and remained in a critical condition in ICU for several weeks. Liability was not admitted by the Defendants, however, the case was settled for a substantial sum.
