In March 2014, at the High Court in Dublin, Ms. Justice Mary Irvine ruled a settlement for a Plaintiff against Defendant General Practitioners who had delayed in the diagnosis of a mild slipped upper femoral epiphysis when the Plaintiff was 14 years old and which, as a consequence of the delay in the diagnosis, became a severe slip for which the Plaintiff required multiple surgeries and had, and continues to have, significant difficulties with her right hip and leg to date.
The case was fought tooth and nail until an admission of liability was received nine working days before the trial of the action.
After protracted negotiations and the opening of the case before Ms. Justice Mary Irvine, the case settled for substantial damages.
