Brigid O’Donnell in the Litigation Team recently represented a lady who was unfairly discriminated against by her employer during the course of her pregnancy. Unfortunately, this lady suffered severe pregnancy related illness but her employer failed to make reasonable accommodation for her during this period. Thereafter, she developed further complications and again, her employer failed to make reasonable accommodation. Thereafter she was dismissed from her post. Given her ill health, she was not in a position to appeal the decision but sought advices from Brigid. Happily, she was appropriately compensated for the loss of earnings incurred as a result of her employer’s actions.
